About This Project
This Coventry Hills family wanted to maximize their backyard for outdoor entertaining while creating distinct zones for dining and relaxation. Their existing small concrete patio wasn't meeting their needs.
We designed and built a beautiful 450 sq ft two-level deck using premium pressure-treated lumber rated for Calgary's extreme temperature swings. The upper level, accessible from the main floor patio doors, features a dining area with space for a full-size table and BBQ. A pergola with retractable shade cloth provides relief from summer sun.
Three steps down leads to a lower lounging area with built-in L-shaped bench seating around a fire pit pad. A 6-foot privacy fence along the property line creates an intimate atmosphere while blocking wind.
All materials were selected for durability in Calgary's climate, and the entire structure was finished with premium semi-transparent stain for UV protection.
